Opened in July 2005 in Rutland, Vermont, the 45,000 square foot $10.5 million dollar brick and stone courthouse features a slate rainscreen façade, marble columns and a copper cornice. The building includes five courtrooms, public and private lobbies, meeting rooms and waiting areas, offices for judges and court clerks, 9 holding cells, offices for the department of corrections, a public plaza and extensive site development. TDS&A won the Vermont Department of Buildings and General Services’ design competition for the Courthouse in 1999.
